For immediate release

The football game will start at 10 a.m. at Mansfield High School Grounds

TAUNTON – Superintendent John Cabral and Athletic Director Mark Ottavianelli announce that the time and location for Taunton High School’s upcoming varsity football game on Saturday, September 17 has been changed.

Taunton High School’s varsity football game against Durfee High School will now take place at Mansfield High School Alumni Field and Track, located at 250 East St., Mansfield, from 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 17.

The match was originally scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Stonehill College’s WB Mason Stadium, but was changed due to a last-minute cancellation by the college.

Currently, work is being completed on the brand new grass pitch and running track at Taunton High School which has delayed the opening of the facilities. Construction and renovation work is expected to take another two weeks. In the meantime, Taunton High School will hold its home games in other locations until the work is complete. Additional information on the games impacted by this delay will be shared once the new arrangements are finalized.

“We greatly appreciate Mansfield Public Schools for allowing us to play our next college football game on their home turf at such short notice,” said athletic director Ottavianelli. “Hosting sporting events from other districts is not an easy task, as it requires good planning. We are therefore extremely grateful for how accommodating Mansfield Superintendent Theresa Murphy and Director of Athletics Tim Selmon have been in allowing us to make these new arrangements at their grounds. rapidly. We also appreciate Durfee for his patience and understanding as we made these new arrangements. We are looking forward to a great game this weekend.
