Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp makes bizarre claim on Man City game
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has claimed he “don’t even know” when Manchester City are playing as his side look to close the gap to the Premier League leaders.
Liverpool’s involvement in last weekend’s Carabao Cup final – which they won – coupled with City’s hard-fought victory over Everton saw a six-point gap reopen between the two teams. Six days later, Liverpool played ahead of City, hosting West Ham, before City hosted Manchester United at Old Trafford in Sunday’s derby.
The two English behemoths will face off in April in a massive title clash. As has been the case in recent seasons between the two North West clubs, each point dropped could be decisive in respecting the destination of the championship.

Speaking ahead of their West Ham clash, Klopp said: “No [whether he’s thinking about putting pressure on Man City]. It’s the truth, I wouldn’t even know when City are playing to be honest, we didn’t think about it.
“We were completely here to prepare for this game. We have to win these days, especially this game that we will see. If we do that and win football games, we can put pressure on, without winning football games, no .
“I said to your colleagues at the press conference yesterday, I really want to win this game today and if we lose this game everyone will ask me ‘is the title race over?’ Sometimes your job is really easy, we just have to throw everything we have in the next game and that’s West Ham.”
