Dorchester Sports v Holt United: team news and manager interview

DORCHESTER Sports manager Ashley James insists confidence is at an all-time high before welcoming Holt United to Avenue Stadium today (2pm).

Sports have won their five home games this season and are on a four-game winning streak in the Jewishon Dorset Premier League.

Their efforts propelled them to fifth place, although Holt was just behind in sixth.

James told Echosport: “We’re in really good shape and since being in DPL it’s the most confident we’ve ever been as a group.

“The five-game series has been impressive with some of the goals we’ve scored. We barely concede on the other end.

“Since that oscillation at Ham Rec, we have come together, sorted out some issues and everything has been very positive.

“We look forward to every game and Holt will be no different.

“To have a good season, you have to do well at home, there is no doubt about it, because away games in DPL are difficult.”

Liam O’Shaughnessy (main) is expected to be away for four to six weeks after the operation.

Gareth Will and Sam Buckler (both in the groin) won’t return until the New Years with their injuries.

New signing Caleb Tennant is set to play, but the game comes too soon for new signing Bailey McNamara (foot).
