Date and new venue confirmed for Tamworth Pride 2022
Details have been confirmed for this year’s Tamworth Pride 2022.
The second Tamworth Pride will take place on Saturday July 16, but this time inside Tamworth’s Castle Grounds, again with top performers, inspirational speakers, rides, fun activities for all, stalls, support groups, food and more. The band are also delighted to be working with Tamworth Borough Council on the event.
Chairman Lee Bates said: “This year Pride will shine its rainbow light on highlighting equality and diversity and will once again seek the support of the Tamworth community to sustain us as we work together focusing on issues facing the LQBTQ+ community, such as addressing inequality, access to support groups, and gender identity.
The group posted on Facebook: “Add this date to your calendar friends! We are delighted to announce the date and venue for this year’s Tamworth Pride 2022. Saturday July 16! We’ll see each other there.”

Last year the free weekend event, and the first of its kind in the city, took place on Saturday August 14 at Wigginton Park Rugby Club and Sunday August 15 at the White Lion with family entertainment in day followed by an evening of entertainment for over 18s. The theme was ‘let’s start celebrating you’.
Acts included host Trisha Birmingham, Bentley Jones, Bitchin’ Hour, Prom Night Projects, Harper Fugutives, DJ Jammin’, Adellà Cappola, The Puff Puff Gals, Tayris Mongardi, Iridium 77, Kyle Finn, High & Mighty, Ave Duvet , Tilly, Tammy King, Miss Penny, Adella Cappola and Niki Evans.
Last week a call went out to all members and allies of the LGBTQ+ community to come forward and volunteer for Tamworth Pride 2022.
A range of volunteer roles are required, including stewardship, supporting working groups, and helping to set up and close the event to “make Pride 2022 the best it can be.”

Incoming committee chair Lee Bates said: “Part of the success of the first Tamworth Pride was how our LGBTQ+ community came together and how Tamworth, whether LGBTQ+ or allied to the cause , came forward and united to celebrate equality and diversity.
“As we enter 2022 the team has been busy working for this year’s Tamworth Pride and we want to invite as many people as possible to get involved as volunteers or to support us in our fundraising events. funds.
“An 80s party at Tamworth Rugby Club is the start of a fundraiser so we can make Tamworth Pride 2022 the best it can be and we encourage people to get tickets to help us celebrate equality, love and allowing us to make Pride 2022 the best it can be.

Pride 2022 is now inviting all potential volunteers to get in touch with the group as well as meet the committee and find out how they can get involved on Monday 31st January from 8pm at Tamworth Rugby Club.

In addition to the opportunity to volunteer, Tamworth Pride is also hosting its first fundraiser of 2022 with an 80s party “A Celebration of Love” which will feature a Drag Hostess, DJ, gun games at fire and more.
