An entrepreneurial couple launches a modern countryside creative space suitable for a myriad of events. Whether it’s corporate meetings, photo shoots, workshops and more, the Hideout creative space could be the place for you!

Matt and Tracy Bishop, husband and wife, are no strangers to building businesses. Based just outside Fulford, the couple already run a thriving recording studio and cattery, but they had a spare building just begging to be used.

We spoke to the Hideout Creative Space duo and their respective journeys:

“We’re Matt and Tracy, and with the help of Maggie Hollinshead, we’re thrilled to introduce our creative space to the people of Stone.

Matt is a music professional with a thriving recording studio operating out of the same location as Hideout.

Tracy’s primary career is in finance and corporate public speaking, along with complementary skills in hypnotherapy and personal development coaching.

Maggie is our Art Guru and Crafting Champion. Oh, and we also run the Kandahar cattery on site because we love animals and wildlife!

We are very enterprising and had a redundant building that cried out for a purpose.

We already had a request for space for video and photo shoots, and recording studio micro-concerts, so we decided to redevelop the building to provide space for all kinds of events and creative activities to so people can hold their own events in this stunning part of the Staffordshire countryside.

The team went on to tell us about their space and the work that went into opening it up:

Hideout creative space“We started the redevelopment in the spring of this year (2022) and opened our doors in early September.

We have created a beautiful rural and rustic event space that can be rented by the hour, half day, full day or over several days for a wide range of events.

So far we have had bookings for corporate meetings, small concerts, video shoots, craft workshops, meditation sessions and family gatherings such as baby showers.

Maggie also leads a series of arts and crafts workshops. We’re also testing coworking days where you can book an office for a day or half a day to break up the week if you’re a solo entrepreneur or working from home.

With a number of event spaces in and around Stone, we were eager to hear what they consider their unique selling point to customers:

“We think our rural setting sets us apart; everyone who books loves the countryside and the views and loves being able to break up their meeting or workshop with some time in the great outdoors with a walk in the countryside or even feeding our alpacas.

We have free parking on site and, of course, free Wi-Fi. We also want to make sure everyone has successful events, so we’ll work with you to plan your event from scratch and can provide practical support and advice to help you create an impactful event.

The team went on to say:

“We want to encourage our customers to get the most out of the campaign. Bring walking shoes or wellies, and we’ll suggest circular walks that fit perfectly for a break from your schedule.

If you are new to organizing events or meetings and feeling nervous about the practicalities and logistics or even need a boost of confidence, please chat with us as we have extensive experience and skills to help you.

One of the things we love about starting this business is discovering so many local businesses and entrepreneurs who are doing great things. Staffordshire is such a creative place and we love being a part of it.

You can find Hideout Creative Space on the outskirts of Fulford Village, Kandahar, Crossgate, ST15 8RL. It’s about a 10 minute drive from Stone and about a 25 minute drive from Stoke or Stafford stations.

After taking a break in 2021 to work on their new location, the Walk of Lights is back in action to add a huge dose of Christmas spirit to the holiday season in East Texas.

Visitors can wander through a magical, illuminated wonderland. Various sections are set up with different themes, highlighted by Santa’s workshop where everyone can have a visit and take pictures with the merry old St. Nick himself.

“It started as a small gathering at a Catering Plus Christmas,” said event organizer Tammy Graham. “At first I was just inviting a few people and raffling off cakes and things just for fun. The next year we started decorating and 3,000 people showed up.

The following season saw 11,000 visitors and a Palestinian attraction was born.

“Terry Goodenberger has worked with me on it every year,” Graham said. “We had three acres off SH 155 and it got overwhelming so we finally decided to buy some land together and really get it right. I sold my house and we bought 27 acres.

Graham and Goodenberger took time off last year so they could work on their newly acquired property to prepare for this season.

“When we were on SH 155, people were lining up to park along the freeway and it was getting dangerous,” Graham said. “We now have a lot of parking spaces away from the road, so it’s a lot better.”

It is also much larger as Graham estimates around five to seven acres have been decorated.

“Even though we’ve been doing this for several years at the other location, it’s all new to us this year,” Graham said. “We just ask that everyone be patient with us while we work things out.”

Patience should be easy to find for visitors to the Promenade des Lumières. Not only will they be greeted with a lovely display of Christmas spirit, but they can also enjoy a food stand with hot hot chocolate, apple cider and pastries available for cash purchase prepared by Catering Plus .

“We will also be having a toy drive on December 2,” Graham said. “This will benefit the Palestinian Police Department’s Blue Santa program.”

Walk of Lights sponsors include Cotton Patch Café, Palestine Toyota, America’s Car Mart, Shearz & Beerz, Dairy Queen, Shep’s BBQ, Shelby Savings Bank, Limitless Insurance, Palestine City and Rudy’s Air Conditioning.

The schedule for the season is as follows:

• From Nov. 17 to Nov. 20. Open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

• From Nov. 23 to Nov. 27. Open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6-9 p.m.

• From 2 Dec. to 11 Dec. Open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

• From 16 Dec. to Jan. 1. Open daily from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

No Santa Claus on site from December 25 to January 1

The Promenade of Lights is located at 2161 FM 315 in Palestine, 2 km from SH 155.

Free entry.

Parking is $10 per car for up to six people.

Many Geordies were upset that STACK Newcastle closed earlier this year, but now the business is returning to Tyneside.

STACK Newcastle, as details confirmed, plans to make a permanent return to Newcastle next winter at a new site on Pilgrim Street after its sad closure last year.

Geordies also shared their grief over the closure of the food court, but now those STACK fans will rejoice as the business will return to a Grade II listed building Worswick Chambers on Pilgrim Street in 2023. The building has been clad in scaffolding and netting for over 20 years and will now breathe new life into it.

The new flagship venue will be spread over three floors and will include eight bars, seven street food units and two cocktail bars, which will also be used as function rooms with a rooftop terrace. It will also include a central outdoor plaza, a large screen and a stage for live shows.

When completed, the new STACK Newcastle will create 160 jobs and bring back to the city the much-loved leisure village that has been missed since the closure of the Pilgrim Street site to make way for the new HMRC office complex.

Neill Winch, CEO of Danieli Group, owner of STACK, said: “We know how much people miss not having a STACK in Newcastle, so we are focusing our efforts on creating what will become a flagship site where STACK started. Work is well underway on the perimeter with a view to opening in winter 2023.”

The announcement of STACK Newcastle’s return comes as the band announced they will not be hosting a pop-up event in the city this summer. Danieli Group has applied to Newcastle City Council for permission to create a temporary container village on a site in the Stephenson Quarter, behind Central Station and next to the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

However, following local objections to the pop-up, the company decided to withdraw its application and now focus fully on creating the new development.

STACK Newcastle will be back in town next year

When STACK Newcastle announced its closure earlier this year, the Facebook post housing the bad news received 2,000 tantalizing comments from customers in less than an hour. People wrote that ‘Newcastle will never be the same’, ‘gutted’ and ‘why am I crying’.

STACK Newcastle’s accompanying caption at the time read: ‘We know the closure of STACK will also mean the closure of your favorite independent street food/retail businesses. However, we strongly believe that they have all created deals that will continue to thrive as they move from STACK to the next part of their journey. We hope that you will continue to support them in their other sites or in new places in the future. We have 6 weeks ahead of us to make the most of the time we have left in Pilgrim Street.

“We will be hosting a month-long wrap-up party throughout April, culminating with an all-powerful Holiday Weekend at STACK from Saturday May 30th to Monday May 2nd. We hope you all join us over the next 6 weeks in celebrating everything we’ve become famous for – great street food, great entertainment and great atmosphere.

STACK closes on Monday (Image: Getty Images)

“The good times wouldn’t have been possible without you – THANK YOU for making STACK yours. So wipe your eyes, grab your friends and head to STACK for our final farewell dates.

Fernandes was asked for his thoughts on possibly taking a break from domestic action to play in the showpiece tournament in the Gulf state.

The Premier League action ended at the weekend with United claiming a dramatic 2-1 victory at Fulham thanks to a stoppage time goal from substitute Alejandro Garnacho.

Attention will now turn to the 2022 World Cup, which opens with hosts Qatar facing Ecuador on November 20.

Controversy surrounds Qatar’s hosting of the final since it was awarded in 2010, the country’s treatment of migrant workers and the criminalization of same-sex relationships among the issues of most concern.

Following United’s win at Craven Cottage, Fernandes was asked for his thoughts on possibly taking a break from domestic action to play in the showpiece tournament in the Gulf state.

“The World Cup is not the ideal time to play it, for everyone – the children are in school, people are going to work. It will not be the best time for people to watch the matches,” said said Fernandes on Sky Sports.

“We have seen the surrounding area over the last few weeks and months, and people who have died during the construction of the stadiums. We are not happy for that.

“We want football to be for everyone and for everyone to be included and involved in the World Cup.

“It’s the World Cup, it’s for everyone, no matter who. I don’t think that kind of thing should happen all the time.

“But for a World Cup that’s more than football – it’s a celebration for the fans and the players, and a joy to watch, it should be done in a better way.”

Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen was also on the scoresheet at Craven Cottage, his first goal for United, and gave his views on Qatar 2022.

“It’s been mentioned a lot,” Eriksen said. “It doesn’t matter where it is, it’s football. We qualified and we’re just going to play football.

“I totally agree with Bruno. There’s a lot of focus on it, how the World Cup went and why it’s in Qatar. was not done the right way.

“We are footballers, we play football – politics is something above us to make that decision.

“Of course we try to say our thing and do what we can. We want to focus on that, but the change has to come from somewhere else.

Where is the Armed Forces Classic?

  • Location: USS Abraham Lincoln (San Diego)

The 2022 Armed Forces Classic will take place on the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln, stationed in San Diego Harbor. Although this is the first time the carrier has hosted a game on its deck, it will be the third time the game has been played in the Port of San Diego.

Classic History of the Armed Forces

Michigan State not only played in college basketball’s first carrier game, but also played in the first game of the Armed Forces Classic at Germany’s Ramstein Air Force Base, losing 66-62. against UConn in the inaugural game.

The seven games that followed were held at various military bases around the world, including South Korea, Puerto Rico, Japan and more. This season’s meeting between the Spartans and the Bulldogs will be the first since 2019, as the 2020 and 2021 contests were canceled amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2015 encounter between No. 9 Gonzaga and Pitt had to be called off after the first half as a combination of no air conditioning and high humidity following a rainstorm made the playing surface slippery. A Pitt player, James Robinson, slipped on the surface and fell face-first to the ground, suffering a cut on his face.

“It was bad,” Robinson said ESPN at the time. “We had an idea when we went out for training (Friday) but we could tell it was slippery during the warm-ups. It’s unfortunate. It’s such a big event. We wanted to finish it for them – the real heroes I wanted to play the second half, I had already played one half with the injury.

College Basketball Aircraft Carrier Games

Friday’s game will only be the fourth game ever played on an aircraft carrier – if the teams can complete the competition.

The first such match was on November 11, 2011, when top-ranked North Carolina defeated Michigan State 67-55 on the deck of the USS Carl Vinson. The game was played in front of a crowd that included President Barack Obama and his family.

The success of this game created four additional “Carrier Classic” games the following season. Unfortunately, only two of the games could be played to completion. The meeting between Ohio State and Marquette in Charleston, SC, was called off due to condensation on the court – an issue that did not occur in the day’s previous game, a clash between the women’s basketball teams. ball from Notre Dame and Ohio State.

A similar problem occurred in Jacksonville, Florida when Florida and Georgetown’s game was called off at halftime due to heavy condensation. The Carriers’ two games to play in San Diego went off without a hitch.

Here is a look at carrier games in college basketball history:

Date Location (carrier) Teams Results
November 11, 2011 San Diego (USS Carl Vinson) No. 1 North Carolina vs. Michigan State UNC 67, MSU 55
November 9, 2012 Charleston, SC (USS Yorktown) Notre Dame Women’s No. 7 vs. Ohio State Women’s No. 19 ND 57, USO 51
November 9, 2012 Charleston, SC (USS Yorktown) No. 4 Ohio State vs. Marquette Canceled

November 11, 2012 San Diego (USS Midway) No. 8 Syracuse vs. No. 25 San Diego State Syracuse 62, SDSU 49

“College GameDay” returns to Austin, Texas for a Big 12 game with massive implications for the college football playoffs — at least for the visiting team.

The No. 4 TCU is the last remaining undefeated team in the Big 12, and one of only four such teams remaining in the FBS as of Week 11 (the other three being Georgia, Ohio State and Michigan). If the Horned Frogs want to make the Playoffs for the first time in 2022, they will need to secure an undefeated season. It starts this week against No. 18 Texas.

Horned Frogs quarterback Max Duggan (2,407 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and two interceptions) will lead the charge against Texas on Saturday. He may not be the biggest name on the court, but his play this season has been central to TCU’s success. How he faces his counterpart Quinn Ewers will have a huge say in how the game plays out.

With that, The Sporting News has everything you need to know about the “College GameDay” visit to Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday:

Where is the College GameDay location for week 11?

  • Location: Austin, TX
  • Time: 9 a.m. ET
  • Match: TCU No. 4 at Texas No. 18

Texas will make their 20th GameDay appearance on Saturday, and their second of the year. The Longhorns are 10-9 in their previous matchups and 0-1 in 2022 (after losing 20-19 to Alabama in Week 2). They are also 5-4 as the home team.

TCU will be making their ninth “GameDay” appearance, earning an impressive 7-1 record in their previous appearances on the show; The Horned Frogs’ lone loss came in 2018 to No. 4 State Ohio. TCU is 4-0 in road games.

Neither team faced the other on “GameDay”. Texas holds a series lead against the Horned Frogs, going 60-27-1 all-time against the state program. That includes a 3-1 record when both teams are seeded. That said, the Longhorns are 3-7 in their last 10 meetings with TCU.
