AGRILIFE OFFERS PROFESSIONAL FOOD MANAGER CERTIFICATE TRAINING
Anyone seeking professional food manager certification can take a training course next month at the Washington County Expo in Brenham.
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is hosting the training course on May 9and and 10and from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Expo’s VIP building.
The program is designed to prepare food service managers to pass the certification exam and provide training in safe food handling.
By attending the course, food service managers will learn to identify potentially unsafe foods and common mistakes in food handling; prevent food contamination and cross-contamination; teaching and encouraging personal hygiene for employees; comply with government regulations; keep utensils, equipment and surroundings clean; and pest control.
The cost of the program is $125, which includes training, materials, and a national food manager certification exam. The certification will be valid anywhere in the state of Texas for five years.
