There are several salt ponds located on Anguilla, and they are a great place for bird watching with 136 species. See egrets, herons and numerous other resident species plus migratory birds. Identification cards can be purchased from the Anguilla National Trust.
Guided tour conducted by the Anguilla National Trust. The tour begins in The Valley, stops at Fort Hill, East End Pond and Big Spring Heritage Site to East End. Opportunity for experiencing the flora, fauna and culture of the island. US$15 for adults and US$10 for children. Reservations recommended. 
Salt played a vital role in the history of Anguilla. Tour conducted by Sir Emile Gumbs goes through the Old Pumphouse in Sandy Ground and around the salt pond. Tours on Thursdays at 10am by appointment only. Donations appreciated. 
Tour conducted by Sir Emile Gumbs begins at the recently restored Manse, a three gabled house built in the 1900s. The tour proceeds to the salt factory for an informative visit and an opportunity to bird watch. $10 adults/children free.
